I Might Not Like the Guy....

But even this seems to push the envelope for what is appropriate.
Death of a President has got bad taste written all over it!

Couldn't this have been done in a fictional context? (paging Oliver Stone)
Or were the producers of this film going for the reaction that you get when someone is kicking you in the gut? (hello Michael Moore)

Enough with the killing already!

I guess I didn't see it in the context of "God, I wish that bastard were dead!" Although, I'm sure there are some who do follow that line of thought.

They seemed to be pretty clear in the article as to how much the film was doctored up. They bought themselves a cheap escape hatch imo, when they claimed it "showed what terrorism could do", but that's the film making industry, hollerwood or otherwise.

Crossing the line? I really don't know. There's dozens of movies out showing the bad guy (terrorist leaders) being blown to bits; it's just "different" when the same format is applied to an American President. This should in no way be construed as support for the film, but the reality is, death is an equal opportunity employer. Those film makers just portrayed it in a manner that deeply offends US, instead of somebody thousands of miles remote from us.

For me, the scariest part was indeed Cheney being sworn in. For that reason, we need to make haste slowly should we be able to impeach Bush. If we think we have troubles now....(: Another way of looking at the same thing is Cheney is the radical Right's insurance policy.

I have to say Future that there is no issue with the portrayal of the assasination of a President. I think it crosses the line when it obviously depicts not just a real President, but the sitting President.

It was a cheap appeal to the world, and speaks volumes about the standards of civility.

She is one hard working woman right now Robert. I did mention to her on Sunday, regarding her lack of posts. Let's see if something happens.

Ahh the softer side of the Beltways. I especially like your "Grazie Nonnie e Nunu" post.

As vids won't play for me right now, I can't judge the film. There are worse things than Death and I want a full accounting before any punishment.
I'm not pro Death Penalty anyways.

    Peace.
